Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the vibrant capital of Mongolia. Our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you comfortably to your hotel. Stay at the Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace Ulaanbaatar, one of the city's most comfortable and well-located hotels. In the evening, meet your guide for a short briefing followed by a welcome dinner at a well-known local restaurant. Relax and prepare for your journey into Western Mongolia.
This morning, take a domestic flight to Bayan-Ulgii, the heart of Mongolia's Kazakh culture. Upon arrival, travel to scenic viewpoints overlooking the Altai Mountains and Ulgii town. Later, visit a local Kazakh family and experience authentic nomadic hospitality, gaining insight into daily life and traditions. Your first real connection with local culture begins here.
Today is one of the most special and unforgettable days of the journey. Travel deep into the countryside to meet a traditional eagle hunter family. Observe the unique bond between hunter and eagle, learn about ancient hunting traditions, and photograph real eagle hunting in action (not staged). Enjoy lunch in nature and spend time engaging with the family. In the evening, experience a traditional Mongolian shaman ceremony at the campsite — a rare and deeply spiritual cultural ritual. Stay overnight in a traditional ger camp surrounded by breathtaking Altai landscapes.
Continue your deep immersion into Kazakh nomadic life. Today offers one of the most exclusive experiences of the entire journey. You will join a gathering of approximately 10–12 local eagle hunters from the region for a real hunting session in the wild — not a staged demonstration. Witness multiple eagle hunters in action across open landscapes, observe different hunting styles and techniques, and capture powerful, authentic moments rarely seen by travelers. Return to Ulgii town in the evening for rest and preparation for the festival.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Altai Mountains, the festival brings together the region's finest eagle hunters to showcase their skills, traditions, and deep bond with their golden eagles. Watch thrilling competitions, traditional games, and experience the energy of this unique cultural gathering.
Exclusive Comfort & VIP Experience at the Festival. For your comfort, we have arranged a private traditional ger (yurt) at the festival site exclusively for our group. Warm up inside the ger during cold weather, enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments, safely store your personal belongings and purchases, and access our private toilet facilities at the site. This unique setup allows you to fully enjoy the festival in comfort — something very few tour operators provide.
Travel by 4WD through dramatic landscapes toward Khovd. Along the way, visit nomadic families, experience local life outside tourist routes, enjoy traditional Mongolian cuisine, and arrive in Khovd for check-in at your hotel.
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy some free time. Depending on your arrival time, we may arrange an optional visit to the Mongolian National Museum, where you can explore Mongolia's rich history, culture, and traditions. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner. Stay at Kempinski Hotel.
