Come join us for our True life Eagle hunting tour. We would fly in to Ulgii town in western Mongolia and meet our local kazakh crew who would serve you for coming 6 days. We would visit and stay with this mountain nomad eagle hunter families to observe, to experience the nomad way of life as well as eagle hunting safari! We would accompany these mountain nomads on their hunts, on foot and by SUVs. Day 1- 14th April - Fly in to Ulgii and stay at hotel
Get picked up from your accommodation in Ulaanbaatar at 11:30am and transfer to airport, then you would fly out to Ulgii town in Western Mongolia (Approx: 1750km). it is going to be a 2 hours flight from Ub. You would meet our driver at Ulgii airport and will get transferred to Makshum Hotel. By 18:30 our english speaking guide and driver picks up you from your hotel and will have dinner at known restaurant in town. overnight at Hotel. (D-Dinner)
Day 2 - 15th April - Visiting eagle hunters
You would have your breakfast at the hotel and get picked up at 9:30am. You would drive through steppes, and mountains towards Tolbo village on a paved road. Further more you would drive on dirt road to visit 2 different eagle hunters before you visit Beken's house. You would have chance to photograph eagle hunters, and the way they train their eagle, You would also visit their houses to get introduced with the nomad way of life. By late afternoon you would get to Beken's house. Beken is a known eagle hunter in the area, and that is the place where we gonna spent 3 nights. Beken is quite entertaining eagle hunter, with age of late 50ies. He sings and plays many different musical instruments. Overnight at Beken's house. (BLD)
Day 3 - Horse trekking
Are you ready for another adventurous day? Mongolian horses are easier to manage. After a short riding instruction we would saddle up the horses and would ride towards west through Usigen mountains to visiting another wonderful eagle hunter families. We would have trail side pack lunch on the way. You would love this best experience on riding tiny Mongolian horses, except the sour on your ass. 😉 oops . By afternoon we would return back to Beken's house. overnight at Beken's. (BLD)
Day 4 - TRUE LIFE EAGLE HUNTING
We would get on back of a horse or may be we might have to drive to the destination where we hunt. We would join to 5 local eagle hunters and 4 beaters to hunt foxes. It is going to be the most amazing part of the trip to experience the real life eagle hunting. By end of the day we would return back to Beken's. (BLD)
Day 5 - Cultural day
After a big western style breakfast we would say goodbye to Beken's family and will move forward to Buyant village to visit one of the well known throat singers of Bayan Ulgii. Defending on time allowance we would have lunch on a great spot near Tolbo village, then will have chance to visit a family where we would have chance do to archery! by late afternoon we would get back to Ulgii. Tonight you would have the opportunity to have HOT SHOWER. 🙂 Stay at hotel.(BLD)
Day 6 -Wild life
After breakfast at your hotel we would drive 2 hours heading north west of Ulgii to observe wild life in the Tumurt mountain area. There are many big horn argali sheep in the area. We would have chance to drive up close to the Argali sheep and obserse/photograph them. Mongolian Altai Argali sheep are the biggest in its kind, and are the most expensive animals in the world that is allowed to hunt. We would visit local nomad family on the way back and by afternoon drive back to Ulgii. overnight at hotel. (BLD)
DAY 7 - Trekking at Boken Mountain
You would get picked up by 10:00am in the morning and we would drive to top of Boken mountain. it is about 20kms of drive from the center. From the mountain top where we get you would have chance to see the whole Ulgii city from the top. Then you would hike down towards town. it is a bit steep mountain on some points while you are hiking down. the whole trip would take 5 hours including driving. Afternoon you would have some time to do shopping. overnigh at hotel. (BLD)
DAY 8- 21st April 2023- Departure to UB
We have great museum in town. After visiting many nomads families and getting know about local culture, it would be great to visit museum. You can visit museum until lunch by your selves. Then you would have lunch at restaurant and after short visit to your hotel you would get transferred to Ulgii airport by 14:00. We would pick up you at Ulaanbaatar airport when you land at 19:15 and you would get transferred to your hotel. (BL)
